Hello Lovely Crafters...
Today I’m focusing on another male themed card (as we know they can be a challenge)!
These amazing weaving dies lend themselves to any card, and makes a perfect backgrounds to one of my old favourites - the Sweet Dixie Motorcycle Craft Die.
WEAVING DIES & BACKGROUND
Take your Creative Expressions Classic Weaving Craft Die and cut out in Gunmetal Pearl Paper - leave in the sheet! Cut this out again, but this time using Golden Sun Pearl Paper and remove these from the sheet.
Repeat this using your Creative Expressions Intermediate Weaving Die with red and gold pearl paper. Remove these from the sheets (plus keeping the waste strips too).
See my photos above for a reference.
Here you can see, I have alternated the red and gold waste strips from my Intermediate Die and adhered these on top of the gunmetal strips which are cut first and were left in the sheet.
Next, I took a strip from my red intermediate die, and started to weave in and out of the gunmetal.
I then took my gold classic weave strips and alternated those (as you can see above).
Once these are all done, straighten and stick your ends down.
TOP TIP - To help, I used a scrap piece of card and stuck the whole section onto it, to give it extra reinforcement.
Now take a 7x7 Ivory Card Blank along with Sue Wilson's Noble Double Stitched Square Die Set (B); cut out a square to fit over the woven background in burgundy card. Stick this on, and then create a frame using Stardust Galaxy Silver Card to fit over the top of your woven background (as seen).
Adhere your frame to your woven piece, and trim any excess around the edges, before sticking it on top of your burgundy square.
CREATING OUR MOTORBIKE
Take your Sweet Dixie Motorbike Die and cut once in red pearl card, and a second in Silver Mirror Card. To create the design, I paper pieced my silver elements on top of my red die cut, and added black detail with a marker pen. Once you are happy, stick it onto the card with foam pads.
To finish, I added Sue Wilson's Mini Expressions Die - Hope Your Day Is Wonderful which was cut from burgundy card and backed with the Stardust Galaxy Silver Card to give definition and depth.
To do this, I placed the the die cut side up, and on the back of the card you want to use, drawing round it and then fussy cutting it out. Turn it over and it will fit the sentiment perfectly!
I created my "Dad" sentiment in the same way, using Jamie Rodgers Sentiments Collection - Male Relatives Die set.
I hope this has given you some inspiration and ideas for your projects... we would love to see them, so please share with us on our Facebook Group - Create With Craftmania And Jamie Rodgers
I look forward to seeing you on the next tutorial!
Happy Crafting .
