Design Team - A Roaring Good Time by Ian Rump-Smith

Hey everyone!

Hope it's been a good week so far?

I am in love with the Art Deco collection, It really inspires me to get creating.

Step 1

I started with a black C5 card base and just used a sheet of A4 black card, scored in half using a bone folder.

Next, I used my Presscut Plain Rectangle die set to make the frame. I cut a large rectangle from Dovecraft Gunmetal Mirror card and then the next size down in black card for behind my frame.

With the mirror rectangle I went 3 dies smaller and attached it with low tack tape and ran through my machine.

I just love this card as the colour is so universal.

So once cut, I turned both over and put foam tape around both.

Remove tape from the frame only and attach to the black panel.

Step 2

Next I cut my inside image and used the Skylines Background Art Deco die. I used a gold card and then glued it onto the black panel inside the frame.

Have it nearer the top and the wider area at the bottom will be covered by the flowers.

Once glued I used some Gilding Polish - Gold Treasure, with my finger on the area above the building, as I thought this made it look like lighting coming from behind it.

I then attached this to my card base by removing the backing on the tape on back of the black panel.

Step 3

Now for the endless cutting of the flowers! These flowers are just adorable!!

I used the Floral Extravaganza Art Deco die set and cut a nice selection, and any left overs will be used in another project. I used black card and gold card.

I also cut some of the leaves in the gold too

Using my fine nozzle glue I pieced my flowers together and then made them up. I used a ball tool to push in the middles.

I put some gold pearls in the centre to finish them off.

I used silicone glue to put onto my card as I find this sticks heavy flowers best.

Final Step:

I cut out my sentiment, Creative Expressions, "Have a Roaring Good Time' Art Deco die twice, one in black card and the other in gold.

Using my fine nozzle glue again, I slightly offset the black one on top of the gold.

I glued this onto my card at the top centre and then my card was complete.

Well this was such a joy to make so I will be making more Art Deco cards this week.

Thanks all that have come and checked out my blog as I appreciate your support so much!

Have a great rest of the week and keep crafting all.

Much love

Ian x
