Hello Crafter's
Finally some warmer weather is back again and with all the chilly weather I was inspired to do Christmas again lol.
This week I have decided to do something different and decorated a wine bottle and added lights to make a nice table decoration.
Step 1:
Grab a clear wine bottle and remove labels and any markings so it's nice and clean.
Using a piece of Sea Sponge and some white Gesso, dab around the entire bottle, this will give you a nice stippled effect and once all covered it should look like this.....
I left mine to dry for several hours as had to go out, so I would advise to leave for as long as you can.
Once dried I spray it with hairspray to set it and left for 5 minutes. Next, use some Golden Treasure Gilding Polish very lightly over the bottle, but making sure you dont over do it, use your fingers and not the sponge that comes with the jar, as this could end up with over coating of polish.
Step 2:
After setting the bottle aside, use the die set Festive Collection Rippled Poinsettias and cut out a good selection in white card.
If you get carried away, the extras can be used on other projects.
Also in white card and gold mirror I cut the ferns from the Boujee Blooms die set, and again I just cut quite a few.
Step 3:
Now with the next bit, this is entirely up to you.
I love adding colour to my cut flowers and experimenting so for my bottle I did 3 different variants.
I used my Oxide ink pad Worn Lipstick and Gold Gilding Polish.
I did pink edges on one lot, a light shade of pink over another lot and then a very light rub of Gilding polish on the 3rd lot.
Use a moulding mat and embossing tools to add some dimension to your flower petals.
Next you will need the Swirl Flourish die set and cut several layers in white card and glue these together, making 2 flourishes.(See pic below) I rubbed with Gilding Polish to give some colour.
Step 4:
I put a nice Christmas sentiment on my bottle as this always makes it for me. I used the ‘It's the most wonderful time of the year’ die and cut this 5 times in white card and glued them on top of each other.
I used my Oxide Worn Lipstick and lightly added some to several areas, using a blending brush.
Step 5:
Now the next stage is down to preference on planning where to put your die cuts to decorate your bottle. I just place one flower and then add another, some leaves and then a flourish and work around the bottle.
A glue gun is best to use, but silicone is good but that isn't an instant stick.
To finish my bottle I added some mini lights.
I really hope I have given you some inspiration to try this and also for you crafter's that have never tried mixed media creations.
Please remember to post your creations on the FB page, I would love to see your own creations.
Cheers Guys, have a great rest of the week.
Until next Wednesday take care.
