Design Team - Jamie Rodgers Collection - A Festive Hint Of Pink By Ian Rump-Smith | Craftmania Blog

Hello Crafters....

I'm well into crafting my Christmas cards.... as time is whizzing by so quickly; giving my a great excuse to share with you another of my festive makes to help you with 'crafters christmas block' lol.

Today I'm using a selection of Jamie Rodgers Crafts NEW Mat & Layers Collection, along with his Festive Collection!

So without further ado... lets' get cracking!!

Step 1

I've used one of the lovely Pebble Grey 8x8" Card Blanks as my base, as I always find this size perfect for doing framed cards.

Using the above (new) nesting die set, I cut the following sizes using the different card colours:

▪️Pebble Grey (4th size down)

▪️Silver Mirror (3rd size down)

▪️Polar white (5th size down)

▪️Raven Black (5th size down)

▪️I then used the 9th size down on the white layer to cut out my frame.

Step 2

Next I adhered all of my layers using double sided tape, except for the frame which I used black foam tape.

▪️Silver

▪️Grey

▪️Black

▪️White Frame

📝 NOTE - This layer just sits on top of the white layer at the end - so put this on very carefully.

Using a sheet of Polar White Elite Card, I cut a mat from the Fluted Squares Die Set (6th one down). Using my Clear Drying Glue, I stuck this to the centre inside the frame.

Step 3

Next I cut out my chosen sentiment using Pebble Grey, Raven Black and Silver Mirror card to create my layers (as seen in the photo below 📸).

I glued all the elements together, and then stuck to the white mat inside the frame, top left.

Step 4

Now it's floral fun time.... and my favourite part when adding florals to cards.

Take a sheet of Polar White Elite Card and cut in half.

I then proceeded to colour my card ready......

I took my Piggy Pink Ink Pad and just rubbed it around each half of the card to give a mottled effect (as seen below 📸)

▪️Next I used some white acrylic paint and added a small amount of water, which I then distributed with a 'fan brush' - tapping it over each half.

▪️You can set aside to dry, or use a heat tool to speed up the process.

I left mine and used it as an excuse to make a cuppa.

Step 5

▪️Taking the beautiful Classic Poinsettia (above); I cut out two sets of flowers from each half.

I just love this die as you have two different styles of flower.

This die not only cuts your card, but also adds an intricate debossed pattern of swirls and stars on the flowers' petals

📝 Now if you look carefully on the larger flower there is a centre fold on each petal -I folded each and every one.

I then did the same with the smaller flower, however I used my pokey tool, as the petals are more delicate.

I then glued my layers together and used the centre pieces that were cut out with the petals.

I used some pearls to decorate the centres.

Finally I used some Polar White Elite Card to create fir branches using the above die set!

Using my glue, I then added the flowers and foliage to my card front.

Voilà my card is done!

I hope you all enjoy making some amazing cards with Jamie's new Collection, and as you will find, it is so easy to combine his products as they are specially designed to compliment one another!
