Todays card comes from Jamies new Festive die collection which is amazing.
Step 1
Using a sheet of Jamie Rodgers' Night Sky Navy Card, cut a piece measuring 15cm x 15 cm.
Take Distress Oxide Inks in the following colours :-
▪️Dusty Concord
▪️Shaded Lilac
▪️Kitsch Flamingo
▪️Twisted Citron
▪️Salvaged Patina
Using your blending brushes, blend the above colours onto the navy card.
You are looking to achieve a 'night sky' effect here.
When you're happy with the colours, take your Black Soot Distress Ink and blend small amounts into it. Remember, less is more here, so build it up gradually.
Next, you can either flick some white paint onto the card, OR use a white gel pen (as I have) to get the look below (Photo 4 📸)
I also added little spots of glue and dusted some fine glitter over it, to give that lovely twinkle in the sky. (See the Cosmic Shimmer Diamond Frost products in my Shopping List for this)
Now mat this onto a 15.5cm x 15.5cm white card blank. (As in Photo 1 📸)
Step 2
Cut the houses and trees from the die set above.
You need :-
▪️Three lots of the houses - two in Pebble Grey and one in Raven Black
▪️Two lots of trees - one Heritage Green and one in Raven Black
▪️One of the Santa and sleigh in Raven Black
Cut the houses so that when you have them laid out ready to glue, they are all level at the bottom.
Then from the Sentiment Collection cut the Happy Christmas Circle sentiment out in Polar White card.
Take a white gel pen and colour some snow on top of the houses and trees.
Then take some of the yellow card and place it behind the windows to look like the lights on are!
📝 NOTE - I actually forgot to do one row.... so I like to think they went to bed early in that street lol .
You can then add some glue and fine glitter on top of the white snow too plus some along the bottom of the card and on the inside layer as you can see on picture 2 .
Now stick the houses together black at the back then grey then with the row at the from place foam roll/ pads at each end and slightly bow the front before sticking it on I also used glue on the foam pads so it doesn’t flick off.
Make sure the bottom row is level and it should stand up.
Step 3
Stick your trees together as seen so the darker ones are in the shadows then stick them directly onto the card neatening up the edges if needed then stick your rows of houses on top being careful not to flatten the bowed front.
Now take the Happy Christmas circle and cover with some glue and fine glitter and leave to dry.
✅ TIP - I find it’s easier to cut from the circle after this step because it is stiffer.
So carefully cut it out and stick it in the centre of the card above the houses, and then finish with the Santa and Sleigh silhouette above it.
I did make a box for this to protect the card from being squashed
8¼ x 8¼ inches and scored all round at ⅞ of a inch for the base but you could also make it so the whole bottom row is on pads.
Such a wonderful set of dies that some beautiful scenes could be made up from .
