Hey Crafters.....

Great to be back with you - sharing a different style of card with Andy Skinner's new stamp Collection featuring his popular little Bots released last week.

Let's get cracking on this fun and quirky mixed media card!!

Step 1

I used the above die set to cut out my frame using Polar White Elite Card

📝 NOTE - I used square number 3 which I ran through my machine.

I then selected die number 9 and positioned centrally... (I gaged this by eye as I'm not one for measuring lol), before taping it down using low tack tape, and ran it through.

I set my frame aside and then took my centre piece ready to stamp on.

Step 2

I love this stamp which I used for the main image; stamping with a black ink pad (see Shopping List).

✅ TOP TIP - To find out and choose the best type of ink pads to use for your projects, be sure to

Next you will need to pop on your creative hat :-)

Time to colour your stamped image.....

Now the materials you use are entirely up to you.... I have listed mine as a guide to help, and so you can see what results I achieved!

📝 To help, I've made the list below into clickable links so you can view all the products :-)

MATERIALS

▪️Grey Alcohol pen (or you can use ink)

I painted the robots first, and as you can see, I alternated the colours on their hearts.

The male character looks like it's painted silver with the grey pen, but I actually used the Antique Gold and watered it down over the top. I repeated this with the bronze character.

The background was created using the lovely Botanical Stains as these are so easy to colour with.

That extra detail goes a long way....

So I finished my design using a blending sponge and Distress Oxide Vintage Photo around the edges.

I also added some Glossy Accents on their eyes.

Step 3

Time to create the frame......

📝 NOTE - Be careful doing this as the frame could possibly bend or tear when colouring it!!

Here I used my blending sponge together with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide around the frame.

Once all coloured in, I then added random streaks of Lavender Blue Cosmic Shimmer Opal Polish

(I love the effect and how this shows pink in the light which compliments the pink in the stamped image). I also have used Gold Treasure Metallic Gilding Polish - applied with my finger.

📝 NOTE - If you've not come across Cosmic Shimmer Opal Polishes, they are wonderful for creating different effects. They appear as one pearlescent colour on white card, and a different colour on black. A shout out to give them a try - available in 12 colours

Constructing my card and finishing touches........

Chosen card base - Jamie Rodgers Crafts 8x8 Pebble Grey Card Blank

Again using my nesting squares from earlier, I cut a square using the second square die down in pearl bronze card.

I glued this to the front, and then added my frame; lining it up with mounted foam tape all the way around.

Next I stuck my stamped design inside the frame using Dries Clear glue.

Step 4

Final step.....

I used Polar White Elite Card to cut four cog corners from the Kaleidoscope Segment Die Set, and rubbed the Treasure Gold Metallic Gilding Polish over them to give that lovely aged finish....

I glued these to the corner of my frame.

Again using white card, I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set in black ink.

I used my blending sponge from earlier to add some distress

📝 NOTE - No need to re-ink - we want to give that "worn" look, rather than a crisp finish.

I glued this to the centre bottom of the frame.

And that is it :-)

My aim with this blog is to show you how you can mix your old favourites with some of the brand new lines just launched. It's also a great opportunity to give different styles a go....

We are here to help, so if you have any questions let us know.

Until next Wednesday, happy crafting

Take care,
