Happy Wednesday Crafters.....
This week I've taken a 'short' break from my festive crafting, or more honestly lol, I got distracted with the NEWEST of Jamie Rodgers Crafts releases!
Today's blog brings you a piece of elegancy... let me show you
Step 1
I took a sheet of Polar White Elite Card for my base, but I didn't fold it in half just yet.
Taking the outer oval from the above die set, I centralised it off the long end of the card.
Using the same die, I cut another two ovals in Polar White and Rose Petal Pink (see Photo Below 📸)
Next, I used the inner die (on the white only) and ran through my die-cutting machine; securing the die with low tack tape. Now I folded and scored in half.
Step 2
I then used Clear Drying Glue to stick the white die cut into the solid pink.
📝 NOTE - This is a little tricky, however make sure you get a drop on each part where possible.
✅ TOP TIP - As there are a lot of intricate cuts here, I put a sheet of kitchen roll over the top and then used a roller so all the pieces stuck down well.
Once done, I turned it over before cutting it in half with a craft knife (as seen below 📸)
Step 3
📝 NOTE - Wet glue is the best adhesive to use to glue the two halves to your card base.
I put the one inside first and closed the card to line it up properly.
I used a ruler to line up the one on the front.
✅ TOP TIP - I cut some pink lines using the above Straight Lines Die.
This is one of the most useful dies you will ever invest in... I use it for most projects!
I then glued the small ones to the top and bottom of my card.
Step 4
For the flowers and foliage I used the Cosmos Flower and Cosmos Leaves Die Sets.
Here I cut out several flower pieces and stamens in white and pink.
Using my moulding mat and an embossing tool, I added some dimension to the petals.
On my white flower, I applied Tattered Rose Distress Oxide Ink to the tips with a blending sponge.
📝 NOTE - You can also use an embossing tool to add dimension to the foliage too.
For that little extra leverage, I attached my flowers to the card with a Glue Gun.
I used wet glue for the leaves and to tuck under the flowers.
Step 5
The final step was the sentiment.....
I chose to use two of Jamie's Layered Sentiments as you can interchange the layers and sentiments which is very handy!
I cut these again in pink and white to match with the rest of my card.
For that extra detail (and dimension), I used foam tape to add the sentiment onto my card.
That's it completed and how easy was that! Elegance in no time at all!
I hope you will try this project out and in the colours of your choice.
I know we always ask, but please do share your creations on our Facebook Group - Create With Craftmania And Jamie Rodgers with us.
It truly does make our day to hear your feedback and see your own versions.....
Happy crafting guys, and thank you so much for checking out my blog today.
I can't wait to join you next week for another new project which I have up my sleeve :-)
Take care,
