Hello All.....

So you may have noticed this week, I have been playing with the John Next Door Mixed Media Plates. They are right up my street and I have to confess, I'm a little addicted!!

Today’s card is no exception but I’ve used them a little differently today .

Step 1

▪️As seen in the video above, place your plate on your Stamping Platform with card.

📝 NOTE - I’ve used the Large Media Plate here.

▪️I’ve then inked it up with Simon Hurley's Over The Moon Ink Pad, and then as in shown, pressed this onto my card.

I wanted a bit more depth to it, so I added some Wild Honey Distress Ink and swiped it across the Media Plate.

I then used the Lace Crochet Stencil by Taylor Made Journals (sorry I forgot to take a picture here) but I used my Brayer over the top and then removed it once I was happy with the result!

Step 2

Here I wanted to try something different....

Instead of stencilling on top of this background, I wanted to use the stencil like a stamp to give a different look, instead of a crisp stencil finish!

I chose Floral Daydream Stencil by Helen Colebrook, however any floral stencil will do the job :-)

As you can see in the picture, I laid the stencil on the Media Plate and used a blending brush to colour the stencil with my Distress Inks - Peeled Paint, Abandoned Coral, Picked Raspberry and Rustic Wilderness.

When done, I lifted the stencil and stamped it onto the card, and was pleased with the finish :-)

It might look a bit messy to those of you who like everything perfect, however this is my kind of fun !

Next I trimmed this piece down to 7 x 5 inches.

Step 3

Cut a piece of white card  7 ⅛ x 5 ⅛ inches then colour the edges with Abandoned Coral and stuck the media piece on top.

Next cut down an 8x8 card to 7 ⅜ x 5 ⅜ inches and stick these two pieces onto it.

Then I cut out some of the Sizzix Flutter On By Set and coloured them with the inks used in the background and stuck them onto the card as seen 📸.

The flowers are from Jamie Rodgers' Wings Of Wonder Collection.

I cut the flowers from Linen Magic Paper - Honeycomb and blended some Abandoned Coral around the edges. The pearls were coloured with an alcohol pen the leaves were cut from the same paper (this time in Olive)/

I stuck these on as seen 📸 .

Step 4

Finish with a sentiment....

I used the Fairy Wishes Collection "With Love" and scroll dies.

I lightly brushed over some Peeled Paint around the edges then stuck it on so it was slightly bowed up with foam pads under each end.

This rather reminds me of old wallpaper that’s aged.... it’s grungy and shabby and I love it!!

If you have been using your media plates please share we do love to see what others are doing with them. Please remember to share your makes with us over on our Facebook Group - Create With Craftmania And Jamie Rodgers.

Until next time

Take care

Lynn x
