Hello Crafters and wishing you a very Happy New Year!!!

Today’s card is a make from Craftmania’s Mystery Christmas Gift Bag.

Using the Flamingo Stamps and Paper Pad from Dovecraft, we are going to be doing some stamping and masking.

Step 1

▪️Stamp out the Flamingo three times with Versafine black ink onto a masking sheet, before cutting them out with Vaessen's Creative's brilliant Tweezer Scissors.

▪️Next, take Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxide Ink and stamp out another three Flamingos this time - onto a piece of white card.

TIP - Here I used a Stamping Block to keep them in a straight line; keeping the block level with the top of the card.

▪️Now take your masked flamingos and peel the backing off them off. Stick them over the pink ones

▪️Now stamp out another two in-between (see below 📸) and just above the others then peel off the masks.

▪️Stick these masks onto their backings and place in the pack with the stamps.

You can use these again.

📸 Picture one should give you a idea how to do Step 1

Step 2

Colour in your flamingos.....

▪️I used a black Micron Archival Pen to blacken the beaks and eyes, plus around the back feathers (as seen in Photo 1 📸)

▪️Now using Nova Dual Tip Brush Pens with the colours shown, colour as seen.

Then take a White Gelly Roll Pen to colour around the eyes.

▪️Trim this stamped card to measure 4½ inches x 2¾inches.

▪️Next take one of the leaf stamps along with Prickly Pear Make Art Ink Pad and stamp around the edges.

Step 3

Making the mats and layers.....

You will need a white card blank that measures 6x6 inches

TIP - I like to cut down a 7x7" card as they are not always 100% accurate.

▪️Now take some peach coloured card and cut a piece 5 x 5 inches and stick this to the card blank.

▪️Next take the sheet of paper from the pad that has the flamingos on it, and cut that to

5¾ x 5¾ inches and stick that on top of the peach card.

▪️Using the peach card again, cut a piece measuring 5 x 2¾ inches

▪️Now take the sheet with "sunny days" written on it and cut that to 5¾ x 2⅝ inches.

Stick this onto the peach card and set aside.

▪️Then cut another peach strip measuring 5 x 2 inches

▪️From the Pad, take the "ditsy pink flowers" (make sure it’s the right way up) and cut this

to 5¾ x 1 inches and stick this onto the peach strip.

▪️Now take your stamped piece and cut a piece of peach card measuring 4¾ x 3 inches and stick your stamped piece onto it!

Step 4

▪️Now stick all your layers on as seen in Picture 2 📸

If you zoom in, you will see I’ve placed a ruler over mine so that you can see where I have stuck them, if you wish to be precise.....

▪️Then stick on your stamped flamingos I’ve put mine on foam pads but you can just stick them on with glue if you wish .

Step 5

Finishing your card......

▪️Take a scrap piece of the pink flower paper, and from Jamie Rodgers' Sentiments Die Collection I've chosen the "Just For You" die.

▪️Now turn over the pink flowers paper and place the die (white side facing up) and draw around the die with the Micron Pen.

▪️Fussy cut it out I used my tweezer scissors.

▪️Also cut this die out in peach card (as seen in Photo 3 📸 ).

Turn over the pink piece and stick your sentiment on it. Then stick it onto your card as seen with foam pads, or glue if you wish. I also stuck a few pretty little pink gems about too.

I use this style of card a lot - not only is it fun, but you can add to it with lace and ribbons and little bits and bobs and make different toppers. Plus you can adapt and easily make it larger depending on what you want!

Thank you for your support as always :))

Have a happy crafting week

Take care
