Hand Picked By Jamie - Victorian Christmas By Ian Rump-Smith

Victorian Christmas By Ian Rump-Smith ~ August Hand Picked By Jamie | Craftmania

Good Day Fellow Crafters!

Hope everyone is doing ok and are having a great week so far.

Well the "Hand Picked by Jamie" Bundle this month is FANTASTIC and full of Christmas goodies to keep you playing for hours. I've certainly been having fun with everything in the Bundle.

I thought I would make my first card this week, easy yet stylish, for those new to crafting or for advanced crafters - a quick card! (I'm not talking five minutes though... so not that quick ha ha).

The items I have used from the Bundle are:

  • Woodware Festive Panel Stamp

Other I have used are :-

  • Blending Brushes

  • Black Ink Pad

  • Stamping Blocks

  • Gold Gems

I started with a piece of white card measuring 14.5cm square.

Using my Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink and a blending brush, I inked around the edges and gradually faded into the middle, but left some white showing.

For the next step, I repeated this process.

I stamped onto a piece of white card using my Distress Oxide Walnut Stain Ink Pad and the Woodware Festive Panel Stamp. I then cut it out, and again inked around the edges using the Distress Oxide Vintage Photo Ink Pad.

I then stamped out the sentiment onto white card, cut out and inked the edges again.

Next, I mounted all three pieces onto Gold Mirri Card, and cut around these leaving a very thin border.

Using the floral stamps from the set, I stamped the right hand corners only - using the Distress Oxide Walnut Stain Ink Pad.

The next step needs a little careful attention... as you have to judge this right, so your eyes are your guide!! Or if you prefer, you can use a Stamping Platform for accuracy.

Mount the long sentiment stamp on a stamping block, and ink with black ink.

Now very carefully line up and stamp centrally along one side of the card, and then repeat on all sides. Make sure you turn the stamp the right way (refer to the photo below).

  • TOP TIP - lay your large matt on the card in the centre and make 4 pencil marks. This enables you to see how much space you have for the sentiment from edge to top of the matt.

Once edges stamped you can start to glue your pieces to your card as shown.

The final part of the card is the bauble which is from Sue Wilson's Mosaic Bauble Background Die, using Gold Mirri Card - no need to cut the whole die just the bauble.

Once die cut trim around the bauble and then glue to your card and add a gem of your choice.

I hope you found this easy enough to follow and enjoy re-creating this card, or making your own version. Don't forget to visit craftmania.com for all your supplies and the "Hand Picked by Jamie" August Bundle before it runs out!

Until next week, when I have another card made to share on the Blog with this fantastic Bundle, look out for more of my samples on the Facebook page Create with Craftmania and Jamie Rodgers.

Bye for now!

Ian
