Hand Picked By Jamie ~ December Bundle - A Christmas Trio! By Lynn Lewis

A Christmas Trio By Lynn Lewis - December's Hand Picked By Jamie | Craftmania

Hello and Happy December Crafters....

Today we are going to be making a selection of Christmas cards; the same design, but giving you three different sizes!! Hopefully this will give you some options depending on whether you are posting, giving them by hand or maybe some last minute ones on your list :-)

As always, you can find the Shopping List for my project at the bottom of this page.

To start, you will need Creative Expressions' Lexi Die from your Bundle.

Cut out the plain inner backing star in Gold Mirror Card, and then the front of the star in white card.

If you are planning to make all three cards, then you will need nine of each.

To save time and whilst you are there, cut out the corners from your Creative Expressions Elegeant Lace Border and Corner Die Set (also in Gold Mirror Card). You will need four for each card, plus your chosen sentiment die cuts. I have used :-

  • Sue Wilson’s Mini Expressions - We Wish You A Merry Christmas -

  • Sue Wilson’s Mini Expressions - Celebrate The Season

  • Jamie Rodger’s Pierced Collection - Joyful Tidings Sentiment Set

Now using Jamie Rodger’s Pierced Collection Elegant Poinsettia Die Set; take the smallest Poinsettia die and cut out three times for each poinsettia you want to make. Make your Poinsettia's using Craftmania's Berry Red Translucent Paper.

  • TOP TIP - To save time, fold the translucent sheets into FOUR, then you can cut four at a time. You will need 27 if you are making all the cards. Your machine should go through the paper, however always test, and never force your machine.

Next, take your white 'Lexi' die cuts and colour them with a Wendy Vecchi Make-Art Ink Pad - here I am using Peat Moss. Once done, stick each one on the centre of the gold Lexi die cut and set them aside (as seen in the picture).

Now you need to make up your Poinsettias. I simply pinched up the bracts round the tweezers (they would be called petals on a flower but not on a poinsettia) lol. Glue together pushing a ball tool in the middles. Stick six tiny gold gems in the centres and set aside.

Now take your card blanks - one DL Card (slim), one 8x8 Card and one 5x5 Scalloped Edge Card - plus your Phill Martin Chalkboard Effect Paper Pad. Tear out the two black and white sheets with stars on them.

Now trim these down to mat and layer onto your Gold Mirror Card. Don't stick these together yet, as you now need to colour them with the your Make Art Peat Moss Ink (as you did the stars).

Colour the white sides for the DL and 8x8 cards, also the black side for the 5x5 card, and then stick these on the card blanks as seen on the finished cards.

Next, take your stars and stick the finished poinsettias in the centres. Place adhesive Foam Pads on the bottom and stick to your cards.

Now all that’s left to do is position your sentiments and stick your gold mirror corners in place,

(the two pierced backing bits, I again coloured with my Peat Moss Ink.

On the 8x8 card, I stuck my sentiment using two layers of Foam Roll to give it depth above the gold stars. For extra detail, I added a couple of tiny gold gems to the edges of the sentiments.

Shop Gold Gems Here. The DL and 5x5 card sentiments are stuck directly on the card.

I hoping that this idea show you that you can still achieve that luxury look in both small cards as much as larger cards...

I hope you liked the idea of finding a Christmas card in this Bundle... after all it is December lol.
