Welcome Crafters....
This week I couldn't resist squeezing in one more Christmas card out of this month's Bundle!
As always, you can find the Shopping List for my project at the bottom of this page.
You will need Sue Wilson's Gillian Die set, Creative Expressions 8x8 Rope Chain Embossing Folder, along with Phill Martin's Chalkboard Effects Paper Pad.
In addition to the Bundle, I have also used :-
Sue Wilsons Festive Foliage Pieces Die Set
Silver Dream Metallic Gilding Polish
Poppy Make Art Ink Pad
Gathered Twigs Distress Ink Pad
Jamie Rodger’s Pierced Collection Sentiment - Merry Christmas
Craftmania's Frosted Silver Foil Card (you could also use Silver Mirror or Holographic Card)
So to begin with, take a sheet of your Frosted Silver Foil Card and cut it to fit onto a 5x7" White Card Blank. Leave a narrow border so you can see the white card underneath, and stick using Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear Glue or Double Sided Tape.
Next, take out the black and white gift box page from your Paper Pad and cut it down to size, to mat onto the 'frosted silver,' but first colour the edges with your Poppy Make Art Ink Pad. Once done, stick this down.
For the next step, emboss a piece of white card using your Rope Chain Embossing Folder, before covering it with the Silver Dream Metallic Gilding Polish.
Next, you need to cut your embossed card to the correct size to mat and layer onto the paper your previously stuck down. NOTE - Do not stick this yet, just pop it to one side
To help you with the construction of all the elements, I have added some photos to guide you.
Take your Gillian Die set and cut out the two elements as seen in my photo above. (This includes the front using the outside cutting edge, the centre cut out, plus the outer cutting edge. The middle section cuts out on its own). Colour these two lightly using your Gathered Twigs Distress Ink Pad.
Now if you’re like me, you will have prepared your Festive Foliage die cuts already :-)
Here you will need a selection using all the dies, cut from both green and gold.
I have used Kraft Card, Craftmania's Silk Gold Mirror Card, plus pearlised and plain card.
Take all of your foliage die cuts, and start sticking them through the holes of the front part of your Gillian die cut. Glue and trim as you go, until you’re happy with the shape (see my picture).
Mine is quite rustic, however you have the freedom to create as you wish...
Next, glue the plain piece of the Gillian die onto the back, and place some foam pads on the bottom as shown.
Now I wanted to show you how to put ribbon through the dressed wreath, so I grabbed an extra two Gillian die cuts to illustrate. See photo above. I put the ribbon through the wreath and then stuck it securely behind the embossed card.
Now for the important finishing touches....
Stick the wreath topper to the matted card, and tuck in some red foliage here and there and around the edges.
To finish, I placed my "Merry Christmas" sentiment from Jamie Rodgers' Pierced Collection in the centre of the wreath. I then added red gems and a little red bow under the sentiment.
I really enjoyed making this one, and hope it may give you some inspiration!!
I' love to hear your feedback, or if you have any questions please leave them in the comments :-)
Don't forget to share your makes with us (and join in on our #12days Christmas Event) on our Facebook Group - Create With Craftmania And Jamie Rodgers.
Enjoy your week and keep warm.
