Hand Picked By Jamie ~ December Bundle - Star Of The Show By Ian Rump-Smith

Star Of The Show By Ian Rump-Smith - December's Hand Picked By Jamie | Craftmania

So it's that time again, where (most of us) bid a fond farewell to our Christmas card making... :-(

However, I'm excited to share this weeks' card, which has a nice fresh design that can be used for anyone's Birthday!!! I'm sure we have plenty of those to make for 2023... so here goes!

Remember, you can find the Shopping List for all the products used in my project at the end of my Blog.

Firstly you will need an 8x8 White Card Blank (my favourite size to work with).

To start, let's' build our card by creating out mat and layers using Creative Expressions Noble Stitched Squares Die set. Here, we will be using the largest four dies from the set, and to help guide you, we will call the biggest die number 4.

Cut these out using the guide below :-

  • Die Number 4 - Creative Expressions - Foundations Black Card

  • Die Number 3 - Chalkboard Essentials Paper Pad - Star Paper

  • Die Number 2 - Creative Expressions - Foundations Black Card

  • Die Number 1 - Creative Expressions - Foundations White Card

Now using your Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear Glue, Mat and layer 4-2 ONLY onto the card base.

Next, take your remain white top layer (which you've not yet used), and use Creative Expressions Frame & Tags Lexi Die Set to cut your card (see my photo above). You will need to use some low tack tape (like Woodware Stencil Tape or Washi Tape) for this and some guess work.

Cut three stars on the left hand side, but make sure you turn the middle cut or they won't all fit.

Take your time with this.

Next cut a strip of Gold Mirror Card and glue to the back of the white card, behind the stars.

Once done, you can now stick this to the card base.

This time I used double sided tape to ensure it was completely secure.

Add some large gems to the centre of each star.

Next, using your black card, create a frame using Creative Expressions Frames & Tags Gillian Die set.

Using the outside frame, cut one from Gold Mirror Card, and then repeat this process with the tag for the centre piece.

Attach foam pads to both the centre element and tag, position and then add to the card central on the right side. See my photo for reference.

For my sentiment, I chose Sue Wilson's Shadowed Sentiment Die - "Happy Birthday."

I cut this in both black and gold card to create definition, which these dies are perfect for.

Glue this to your card.

How simple was that!

I hope you will give this a go, and would love to see your versions and maybe even experiment with different colours...

I would like to wish you all a fantastic Christmas, and hope Santa is good to you.... (craft stuff especially!) Have fun!

Ian x
