Hand Picked By Jamie ~ December Bundle - The Magic Of Christmas By Ian Rump-Smith

The Magic Of Christmas By Ian Rump-Smith - December Hand Picked By Jamie | Craftmania

It's nearly Christmas Crafters....

As you may know by now, I love making alternative Christmas cards, so I've seized the opportunity with December's Bundle - it just had to be done!!

So let's give it a go!

Remember, you can find the Shopping List for all the products used in my project at the end of my Blog.

The Magic Of Christmas By Ian Rump-Smith - Jamie Rodgers Blog | Craftmania

To begin with, you will need a 7x7 white card blank, Foundations Coconut White Card and Creative Expressions Noble Stitched Square Die Set and a Sunflower Make Art Ink Pad.

Cut a layer in coconut white card, using your Noble Stitched Squares Die set, and then colour with your Make Art Ink Pad using a Blending Smoothie.

  • TOP TIP - Only colour the edges of your square, as it will be only these that are visible, and it will save you both time and ink!

The next layer I cut from a sheet from Phill Martin's Chalkboard Paper Pad. Here I chose the black and white flower vines paper.

For the top layer, again, I used Coconut White Card which I embossed using my Creative Expressions Rope Chain Embossing Folder using my die cutting machine. I then used my Fern Green Make Art Ink Pad to colour my embossed square.

Now you need your Gillian Tag And Frame Die set, to which you will need the centre patterned die.

Place in the middle of your green square, secure it, and then run this through your machine.

You will get a beautiful cut-out pattern which looks so pretty!

Next, cut a square from Gold Mirror Card and pop this behind the central cut.

Take your Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear Glue, and stick the three layers onto your card base.

Moving on..... we now need our Creative Expressions Elegant Lace Edger Die set to create four die cuts using Silk Gold Mirror Card. Once done, glue to the edges of your green square to make a frame!

Now we need to make our Poinsettia....

Here I have used Sue Wilson's Open Poinsettia Die set, which I have cut in white card and then coloured with Distress Oxide Inks - Lumberjack Plaid for the flower, and Rustic Wilderness for the leaves. Glue these together and then add them to the centre of the card. Add a gem to the centre.

For that extra detail, I've added some foliage to the bottom right corner using Creative Expressions Festive Foliage Pieces Die set. Cut your chosen pieces in white card and then use your inks (or alcohol markers) to colour them. Glue to the card in a nice arrangement.

Every card needs a sentiment, so a nice and easy way to do this is to use the Creative Expressions Wordies Sentiments - Traditional Christmas. I matted mine onto Gold Mirror Card and used foam pads to create depth and definition, before adding to the top of my card.

And that is your card complete....

I hope you've enjoyed today Blog, and I look forward to seeing you again next week

Best wishes, Ian x
