Hello crafters :-)
Well it’s the last Saturday in July and I’m already excited to find out what next months' Bundle is going to be. I’m like a child at Christmas when it arrives lol.
Also great news!
We have another Design Team Member - Ian who has already been adding his gorgeous projects to the Blog to give us all some more inspiration.
It’s always nice to have more ideas as we are not all the same. So I will be looking forward to seeing them as well as you.
Ok let’s get started.
This is a fun sort of “Thinking Of You card,” and I would send this type of card to someone I haven’t seen in a while, but wanted to let them know they are still in my thoughts and I haven’t forgotten them :-)
I started with a 7x7" white card blank, then I went back to the March Hand Picked By Jamie Bundle and used the Blossom Paper Pad from Phill Martin. Hopefully you managed to get hold of this Bundle; it’s great to pop back and use with other Bundles, but if you didn’t there are still a couple in stock I believe....
I cut a plain orange sheet 6 1/2 x 6 1/2 inches, and an orange flower sheet 6 x 6 inches which I matted and layered together with glue. Next I cut a plain orange strip (1 inch wide) and stuck this on the top half of the two papers, which were then folded around the edges. These can be trimmed off.
For the next step, I cut a white ‘Scalloped Edge Rectangle’ from Sue Wilson's Noble Collection and using this month's Bundle - the ‘Thinking Of You Die’ was cut from the left over bits that I used from the Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Powder sheet on the ‘Mixed Media Fun’ blog post.
Recipe below :-
I then glued this die onto the Scalloped Edged Rectangle, and with foam pads stuck the rectangle on the orange strip.
I also used the Triple Layer Spiral Pearl Flower Die from the March Bundle, and cut out 2 large, and 4 small flowers. I lightly wiped round the edges with one of those little ‘Memento DewDrop’ Ink Pads colour Tangelo
.
Next I cut and shaped the flowers and layered them together then placed on the card with glue.
I cut the cat from the 3D Paper Cuts Sitting Pretty Die from this months' Bundle and coloured him with some glitter pens I have in my stash.
We used to have a ginger cat many years ago called Major Tom so I thought I would do the colour scheme based round him :-)
I glued him in place in the flowers on foam pads, and finished the card off with some orange gems ~ these covered up some rogue blue Pixie Powder spots that had wandered from somewhere else lol, plus added some in the centre of the flowers
.
I love the brightness of this card it makes me smile :-)
Have a fabulous crafting week everyone and don’t forget to share your projects in the Facebook Group - Create With Craftmania and Jamie Rodgers if you haven’t joined already. Here you will find a fun and friendly group with lots of ideas to get your teeth stuck into, and you will be made very welcome.
Lynn :-))
Lovely card Lynn and love using the Pixie powders for backgrounds, even mix the originals with all the different new ones, like it's most possibly been said before, playing with the Pixies is like opening a box of chocolate, you just never know what your going to get.
Your card is so pretty I’ve never thought of sending a card for that reason ,I will do now thanks for the idea .
I was lucky enough to see this for real yesterday when I visited. Looks loads better for real. Lovely card Lynn x
