Welcome to my Wednesday Blog!
This week I wanted to do something a little different with you, so we will be making an Easel Card:-)
As always, you can find the Shopping List for my project at the bottom of the page.
For my card base, I used a 6x6 White Card Blank; firstly scoring the front in half with my Bone Folder, before folding.
I then chose two papers from the Touch Of Romance Paper Pad - one a solid beige for the base, and the beige stripe for the front fold.
TOP TIP - An easy way to cover your card blank, is to add glue to the base and front, and then lay the entire sheet onto the area. Turn over and then cut to size using a craft knife and a metal ruler. Do this one at a time.
Set this aside for later, whilst we move on to do some paper piecing.
If this is a new technique for you, this is when you use a die and various colours to fill in the gaps, or areas on top to add the cut colour.

You can use the picture above as a guide to see which pieces need to be die cut.
Here I have used Creative Expressions Frames And Tags - Birthday Party Die Set.
I cut the die from white card first, before taking some coloured card from my off-cuts box to die cut some of the smaller elements of the die set.
The choice is yours, but as a preference I chose to use a mix of patterned, mirror and plain card.
I also used Alcohol Pens on the small parts, such as the ribbons and candles.
I also used Cosmic Shimmer 3D Glue in pink to create my icing for the cake.
TIP - Add the PVA Glue after your card is complete, so it can dry!

Now let's cut out the back panel for our frame....
For this, I used a sheet of Pearlised Cream Card to match the colour of the pinstripe paper.
Using your Woodware Ultra Fine Glue Applicator (for precision and fine detail), attach the two pieces together.
Next, using your die set, cut out the 'Birthday' sentiment in Gold Mirror Card and glue to the panel.
For a little extra detail, I used a Black Fine Liner Pen to hightlight the "happy" on the bunting.
Now glue this to the middle - front panel with Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear Glue.
TOP TIP - Hold in place, and on the back of the panel add a tiny pencil mark so can see how far to add glue.
For the next step, I used the Creative Expressions Herringbone Background Die to cut my pealised cream card. Cut just half a length and then glue to a piece of Gold Mirror Card using your glue. Once you are happy, cut to fit on your card base. See my photo as an example.
TOP TIP - When working with intricate die cuts like this, you may also find Creative Expressions Sticky Specs Micro Adhesive Sheets super handy, as well as quick and easy to use.
Add the Herringbone element to the card using some Foam Tape as this acts as your stopper for the card, in order for it to stay upright.
For the last finishing touches to this card, I added some gems to the stopper panel.
And there you have it..... your card is complete!

So a different style of card, which you could use for any occasion... I hope you've enjoyed making it. Remember to show us all your makes on our Facebook Group - Create With Craftmania And Jamie Rodgers.
I look forward to seeing you next weeks guys
