Good Morning Lovely Crafters!
Hope everything is well with you all....
For this weeks' card I thought I would venture into the world of the colour grey.
I have to admit that I don’t use it very often, but paired up with baby pink, it looks amazing!!
So let’s get started .
As always, you can find the Shopping List for my project at the bottom of the page.
To begin with, take a sheet of Smoke Parchment Card and cut out the upper layer of Creative Expressions Layering Background Elsa Die. Then taking another sheet, cut Sue Wilson's Frames And Tags Roxy Frame Die without cutting out the outer or inner edges (see picture).
Now place Double Sided Adhesive Sheets behind both of these, and set aside for later.
Next, again using your Smoke Parchment Card, take a script stamp like Woodware's Old Letter Stamp (other examples are in my Shopping List) and stamp using in Jet Black Archival Ink over the sheet.
Now we are going to move onto our flowers....
Here you need to cut out the three different sizes of Creative Expressions' Petite Dianthus Flowers from the sheet you've just stamped on.
As a guide, you will need ten of the largest petals, and five of each of the other two, and cut some of the 'swirly' bits as well.
To help you, look at my photos below to get an idea of what to do.

Now take your Cosmic Shimmer Flake And Glitter Glue and put a blob on a tile to work with.
Dip the edges of your petals into the glue and set aside to cure - then wash your tile.
HELP & INFO - Cosmic Shimmer Flake & Glitter Glue is different to your standard glues, and is brilliant to work with. To get an introduction to how it works and what you can do with it, check out Jamie's YouTube tutorial here - Stamping With Flake & Glitter Glue
Now for the fun part.....
Take your Cosmic Shimmer Gilding Flakes - Silver Moon and rub them over your Elsa Background and Roxy Frame which you made earlier. Set aside for now. Repeat this process covering the edges of your flowers with the Flakes.
TOP TIP 1 - You can apply the Gilding Flakes with your fingers, however another great and easy way to burnish them to the area, is to use Creative Expressions Applicator Sponges. These help spread the Flakes, and do not stick to the sponge.
TOP TIP 2 - If you have been following our Blogs, you will know that I like to put my flakes into a large resealable bag. I can then work with the flakes in the bag and leave them in there for another time.
For the next step, make up your Petite Dianthus Flowers using two large and one of each of the other smaller flowers (as seen in the picture). For this I use my Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear Glue.
Now we are going to go back and trim neatly around our Layering Elsa Background and Roxy frame.
Right let’s bring all our elements together to make the card!
First we need our card base which will be a black 7x7 Card Blank; fold the front in half back on itself. .
Now we have a Z card ..... I never know half of these card styles names, but I just know it looks like a Z lol.
Take your Elsa background and mat and layer with Baby Pink Foundations Card and Silver Mirror Card, to fit the inside of the card (as seen in the picture) and stick these down.
Now do the same with the front making sure that you place it on the front, so when the card is closed it’s evenly placed in the middle. NOTE - only stick this on the folded over section.
Moving onto our flowers.... stick your Petite Dianthus Flowers and the little swirls onto your card (as seen in my photo). Here you can also add some pink pearls to the centres which give it a beautiful finish.
TOP TIP - Don’t forget, you can also create your own coloured pearls using Alcohol Markers
For the next step, we are going to cut out our dragonfly in the following colours :-
Back solid die - Silver Mirror Card
Middle die - Smoke Parchment Card
Front / Top die - Baby Pink Card
Stick these together and attach to the card using Foam Roll Tape, snipped along the body underside, plus a little glue to stop it falling off!! To give a little character, I also added black pearls along the body.
To finish our card, we need to stamp the greeting "Friends and Family" from Phill Martin's Stamp Set, on our Baby Pink Card in Jet Black Archival Ink.
Trim around it closely then mat and layer with black, silver and pink again, and stick to the Elsa background inside the card.
And finished!!!!! :-)
If you’re not confident using Gilding Flakes, you can of course use silver mirror card to back your pieces, and put a little silver glitter around the edges of your flowers.... just another option for you.
I do love this card... and not sure if I want to part with this one lol.
Thank you once again for following my Blog this week.
We would love to see your take on our makes, so don't forget to share with us on our Facebook Group - Create With Craftmania And Jamie Rodgers.
Look forward to seeing you next time.
Enjoy your week lovelies.
