Hello Crafters.....

As the saying goes... go BIG or go home lol :-)

So today I'm here to tempt you with one of the the largest Tags from Jamie Rodgers Crafts NEW MDF range.

I confess I'm absolutely hooked on these; in the past having made a lot smaller ones, I love the flexibility the larger tags give you. A whole new kettle of fish :-)

You can just imagine at Christmas, having a pile of gifts under the tree with an amazing tag tucked into them, or hanging them from door knobs... they really look the part!!

So let the creativity begin.....

Step 1

For speed, take a sheet of Seashell Blue Elite Card and place the tag on top.

Draw around it with a pencil (not forgetting the hole).

Cut it out with scissors or a craft knife and punch out the holes, before gluing it to the tag.

Repeat this process for the other side.

Trim any excess away with your scissors or craft knife, and push a pencil through the holes each side to neaten the edges.

✅ TOP TIP - Using an Anti-Static Pad, wipe over the tag surface. This prepares your surface prior to stamping and heat embossing and eliminates the static that causes embossing powders to stick and leave marks on your work!

Next, using the snowflake stamps from Rodney The Snowman Stamp Set, stamp them randomly around one side of the tag with a Versamark Ink Pad. Then use white embossing powder and heat emboss as seen in Picture 1 📸.

To finish the background....

Take the Snow Flurry Stencil and apply the NEW Diamond White Glitter Texture Paste using a palette knife over the tag.

📝 NOTE - You don’t have to do it all, just avoid some of the bits with the snow flakes on.

Once dry, take the new Quick Dry Pigment Ink Pad - Blue Emperor and with an ink applicator, go around the edges of the tag as seen below 📸

Set aside.

Step 2

Cut out the dies from the Festive die collection....

Take the above die set

Cut out 6 in each size in Polar White Elite Card.

And because I was cutting out 6 of those, I also cut 6 of the Festive Foliage hollys and berries, and Classic Poinsettias as well (as you do lol)!

You can always keep bits for another project.

Next taking the Classic Poinsettia, I selected 4 of the large flowers, and 4 of the next size down.

I coloured half of them with the Blue Emperor Ink Pad.

I also coloured the Festive Foliage elements with the Elephant Grey Ink Pad (as seen in Picture 2 below 📸 )

Step 3

Moving on.....

Take a foam applicator and the Diamond White Glitter Texture Paste and dip it into the pot.

Dab it all over the petals and the Poinsettias before changing over to the Argentite Glitter Texture Paste

📝 NOTE - Wipe your applicator first, before doing the same on the berries and holly and the centres of the all Poinsettias.

As seen in Picture 3 📸 make up the 2 Classic Poinsettias, alternating blue and white.

TIP - Here I've specifically used my Glue Gun, as this glue gives a bit more height to them.

Now go back to the bits you pasted with Argentite and gently dab on some Blue Emperor ink as you can see in Picture 3 📸

Also do the tips of the Elegant Poinsettia Petals.

Picture 4 📸 is just more of the same so we will skip to Picture 5 📸 and start assembling the Elegant Poinsettia Petals.

Step 4

Assembling the Elegant Poinsettia Petals......

So I did each round separately here using Jamie Rodgers Crafts Clear Drying Glue.

I stuck one petal on at a time until I had all layers - I think there are 4 layers.

I then glued 3 of the centres details in (as seen in Picture 5 📸)

Once done, you can adhere this to your tag.

As you can see, I went over the edge you don’t have to keep in the confines of the tag size.... well try and stop us lol.

Again, I used my Hot Glue Gun for this task, as I am far too impatient lol :-)

Step 5

The final fun step.....

Now to use your artistic flare and bring your creativity together... to stick and tuck bits in where you think they will look good :-)

I have this thing where I imagine how it’s going to look then try and interpret it onto the tag/card and always surprise myself ..

Once you are happy, make a sentiment!

For mine, I chose the Merry Christmas Circle Sentiment.

I created the base in Silver Mirror Card and the plain circle in Polar White Elite Card.

Now lightly brush over the white circle with Blue Emperor ink.

Select a stamp from the Christmas Sentiments Set and stamp it onto the circle with the same ink, before sticking it onto the silver back piece.

Now all you have to do is tuck that into the foliage and stick it down.

Next take some ribbons and make a loop to hang your tag, and a nice double bow to finish (as seen on the finished tag).

I've also added a nice gem for the middle of my Elegant Poinsettia and smaller ones for the

Classic Poinsettias.

📝 NOTE - The size of the MDF Tag is approx. 24.5cm x 15 cm.

These tags are going to be gifted all round my family this year; it’s a wonderful decoration and the ideas are endless!

I can't wait to see you give these tags a go - they are really great for expressing your creative side :-)

Until next time

Take care,

Lynn xx
