So, I originally started cutting these colours for the kaleidoscope die set to make a Romantic card but about ten minutes in I wondered if I could do a round box of chocolates, plus it also reminded me of a big strawberry tart so it needed filling lol.
Now this has all come out of my head so it’s not perfect lol. but may help you along the way to creating something similar.
Let’s get started....
Step 1:
First of all I cut out 8 of the Heart segments from the Kaleidoscope die set in the Purple mirror card then I cut out 8 plain segments in the Romantic Red Elite Card and stuck them together and set aside.
Next I cut 2 of the scalloped edge circles in Romantic Red, then 2 x 1 inch strips of the same card. I then scored a line down the centre of these and burnished them with a bone folder .
As you can see on picture 1, I then cut snips into them all the way along avoiding the crease.
Step 2:
Taking my strips I placed glue along one edge and proceeded to stick it around one of the scalloped circles but not right to the edge, I hope you can see that in picture 2. I continued until I had to join the other piece and snipped off the extra when they met.
Next, as you can see, I put on the sides. These are 2 inch strips of Romantic Red card, now I didn’t measure the lengths because I didn’t think to do it in two halves, I just fit them by gluing to the other side of the snipped strip(Told you it came out of my head lol)
Make sure you stick the tops of these strips level with the bottom - I didn’t, and mine gapes out a bit at the top.
It’s all a learning curve.
Step 3:
Next, to make the lid.
For this you need to cut a 6 inch circle, if you have a die that’s great!
I cut out 2 in grey board and one in Romantic Red and stick them altogether.
Then I took a red brush tip pen and went round the edge to hide the grey board.
Now you need to stick this in the centre of the other scalloped circle as seen in picture 3.
Then take all the little purple hearts and stick round the edges, I just thought it added interest on the inside .
Now place your lid on and you have a box with a lid that doesn't slide off yay !!!
Looks pretty good, hey!
Now take all the heart segments you made earlier and stick them on top of the lid so they are not quite near the edge.
Step 4:
Decoration.
For this I cut the Cosmos flower die in Purple Mirror and Romantic Red, then I cut the Cosmos Leaves in Heritage Green and Meadow Grass Green card.
I made up the cosmos by alternating the colours as seen in picture 4 and stuck the Meadow Grass Green leaves on the bottom, as seen, then I added foam pads to it.
This was then stuck on the centre of the lid with added glue on the pads.
I then tucked in some of the Heritage Green leaves and stuck them down.
Now to finish I was going to tie a big purple bow round the box but the purple mirror card was calling me so I cut 2 x 1 inch strips, again cut these at equal lengths not like me I was just winging it at the time lol. Anyway, I stuck these on and then took the rest of the little purple Hearts and covered the joins plus a little line half way on each side.
You will see I have cut a silver mirror scallop circle, I stuck that on the bottom of the box because my plain card base got a bit grubby and sticky from gluey fingers on the bottom and mirror card wipes clean. I used silver because I had more of that.
Lastly, I placed some red tissue paper inside the box to cover the join in the bottom then added some chocolates.
I did forget to take a picture before giving it to Jamie so hopefully you will have seen it with something inside lol
I hope you like my box that came out of my crazy brain and will have a go at making it. If you do, please do share it with us on the group - Create With Craftmania and Jamie Rodgers | Facebook

Fabulous box, thanks for the tutorial xxx
You are so clever! The box is stunning. I think red and purple can be such a lovely colour combo that doesn’t get used enough. That die set really is ingenuous. x
Absolutely beautiful, the colours are very Queen of Hearts! This is a great construction well done x
