Merrily on High by ~ Ian Rump-Smith

Tis the Season!

Hey Fellow Crafter's, how are you all doing?

So as there is still time for us to craft our Christmas cards ( I would craft them all year round), I thought why not slip another one in.

Step 1

I used an 8x8 card base for my card and then I made a Matt and Layer using the Dovecraft Winter Wonderland Pad 8x8 and Dovecraft Gun Metal card.

I cut these using my Square stitched dies.

Step 2

I next used the Creative Expressions Stitched Baubles Stamp Set and used the Circle bauble. Using a white stamp pad I stamped one onto plain black card and then used Cosmic Shimmer - Frosty Dawn White Embossing Powder over top.

Tap off any excess powder and then using a heat gun melt the powder.

Step 3.

I repeated this 2 more times and also did the same for 3 bauble tops.

Using the Nova Fine Tip Metallic Pens I coloured my baubles and tops. Once finished I carefully cut out the baubles and then before I cut the tops I used my foam mat and pokey tool to make a hole.

This will come clear soon.

Step 4

Next I glued the tops to my baubles and using a silver metallic twine I tied at different lengths to the tops.

Step 5

Next, I cut out several of the branches from the Sue Wilson - Festive Foliage set in black card.

I roughly coloured these with the dark green Nova metallic pen and randomly glued these to the card front. You will find these metallic markers are great for colouring die cuts, the soft juicy tip glides over the cuts so easily.

Glue the branches from the right and come out across to the left like in the photo below.

Step 6

This next part is hanging the baubles. My 3 baubles need to be different heights and also hang at different levels. I used glue on the back one and carefully hung it over a branch and then glued it down flat. Use a little glue for the twine if needed.

For the second bauble I used 2mm black foam pads and then hung this in the middle.

The final bauble I used 3mm black foam pads.

I finished my card with a sentiment from the stamp set and used a black ink pad and stamping block.

I love making hanging bauble cards and enjoyed this one so hope you try it out, if you do I would love to see your version. You can share it with us on our group -

Thank you for checking out my blog, I will be back with another post next Wednesday. Don't miss Lynn's next post this Saturday.

Crafty love and keep warm,
