New Card One The Block - Festive Frolics Collection By Ian Rump-Smith | Craftmania

Hi everyone!

Firstly, I just wanted to introduce myself, as I have just joined the Craftmania Design Team and didn't want anyone wondering who this strange man was lol.

My name is Ian... I have been crafting for about 20 years now and hope to add to the already fantastic Team here at Craftmania.

My passion for crafting actually started by a visit to Daphne and Jamie's shop when it first opened, and I've not stopped since!

I am so delighted to be here with you, and look forwarding to sharing my creations, top tips, inspiration and how to use some exciting craft products along the way

My first card has been made using the new Festive Frolics Collection by Paper Boutique.

The Collection features beautiful artwork that would cover any age when making a Festive card.

The Packs available include :-

  • Embellishment Pad

  • Paper Kit

  • Decorative Papers

  • Coloured Card Collection

  • Insert Collection

Christmas Card Creation - Festive Frolics Collection | Craftmania

To being with, I used an 8x8" card blank for the base.

For the matt and layered I used Gold Silk Mirror Card and a sheet of the gorgeous red card from the "Coloured Card Collection."

You can matt and layer to the thickness you want, but I chose to do mine with the gold - this being 7.5" square and the red 6.75" square.

Next I used a topper from the "Embellishment Pad."

I used two of the same topper as I decoupaged the polar bear and flowers just to give a little dimension to the card. I also matt and layered the topper with the same combination as the card base.

At this point I didn't attach the topper... I will tell you when.

For the side panel, I used a sheet from the "Insert Collection" and cut out the panel and sized it to fit on the left side of the card. Before attaching, I added a ribbon and then used foam tape to give a little height to the panel.

  • TOP TIP - Don't put the foam tape right up to the edge so it can be seen. this will also help when attaching the topper.

Now attach this to the side of your card.

You can add the topper now.

I slid mine slightly under the side panel and this was why I said not to put foam tape directly to the edge.

Next, I used one of the sentiments from the "Embellishment Pad" and used some Gold Silk Mirror Card to matt the sentiment. I also cut a flower from the left over insert sheet and added this to the sentiment.

I finished the card by adding 3 pearls to the base.

I hope I have settled into my new family and you all like my card and can follow my instructions ok.

I would love to see some of your makes, so don't forget to share them with us on our Facebook Group - Create With Craftmania And Jamie Rodgers

Please let me know if you have any questions or queries to help you at any time.

Happy Crafting guys,

Ian
