I thought this was such a fun and simple technique that I just had to share it with you.
I have created mine using the ever so addictive French Marigold die - French Marigold - Sue Wilson - Craft Die | Craftmania (craftmaniacrafts.com) But to be honest, this could be recreated with just about any die! Imagine this done with tools, cupcakes, bird houses, sentiments, cars... etc... It may just be a go to simple background for all the themes of dies you have that you're not too sure how to use to make that focal element on a card. So... Step One, cut lots of the die...
Step Two... Randomly glue them down to a sheet of white card, making sure to really adhere them down, they will be getting wet and we don't want the dies curling up at the sides, we want them to stay nice and flat.
I tend to go over the edges as you can see, it's also a good time to use up any dies that maybe haven't cut perfectly or have sat on the desk and got tatty or marked with ink etc. By the time you are done with them you wont see it! I tend to trim off the over hanging bits at this stage...
Now comes the fun! For mine I have used Airless Misters - Cosmic Shimmer Airless Misters - Craftmania | Great Yarmouth (craftmaniacrafts.com) But you could use all sorts of products, Pixie Sparkles, Shimmer Shakers, Pixie Powders, even the Cosmic Shimmer polishes (Opal, Matt, Metallic, Lustre... could all look really good!) Go to town with your colouring...
Leave to dry...
Add some pearls for the centres of the flowers - Gems and Pearls | Craftmaniahttps://www.craftmaniacrafts.com/gems-and-pearls
Layer on to a card, add in a sentiment and hey presto... card done!
I hope this is a technique you try, please do share your results with us - Create With Craftmania and Jamie Rodgers | Facebook Jamie -x-
Can't wait to try this, Jamie
