Spellbinders Design Team ~ Ombré Shutters by Lynn Lewis

Spellbinders Design Team ~ Ombré Shutters by Lynn Lewis | Craftmania Blog

Hi All.

So I decided to do another shutter card mainly because I just bought this A4 Ombré Pad which I really love and look how it sparkles, it’s so pretty :-)

It looks amazing as a front to this card, hope you agree.

So here are the details:

Step 1

Watch this video please, it will help show you step by step how to create these wonderful shutter elements so easily.

Step 2

Now you have watched the video, start cutting out your mechanism for the card and the frames .

I cut mine out in baby pink card and the front frame from the Ombré pad .

Stick these together as shown in the video .

TOP TIP With non shedding glitter card is to make sure you don’t have glue on your fingers when you touch the front or it will show up .

Sometimes, I find, it’s better to use the red liner tape on larger areas.

Step 3

Continue to cut out the pieces you need for the card .

I used the ombré pad or the filigree panels, the butterfly fronts and the sentiment plus the pull bar up the top.

Then the baby pink for the plain panels, front and back, the butterfly backs and the back of the pull bar and the sentiment on the front .

Step 4

Start sticking all your panels together and placing them on the card front and back.

For the back ones I matted and layered the pink ones onto the ombré card so there’s a subtle difference between the pinks.

Make up the butterflies and stick to the front panels, then the bar at the top. You can of course add tiny gems to the butterfly bodies - I will probably add some myself now I’ve thought of it lol.

The ribbon is then added as you can see and I put two rows and stuck it round the back with a piece of card covering the bits on the back.

Then add a bow in the middle.

Step 5

Finish off with the sentiments

I used Jamie Rodgers - Just For You - From the Essential Sentiments set. The 'Just For You' on the back of the shutters and the 'Happy Birthday' on the card front are all 3 layers thick to create extra dimension.

You could also bling up the butterflies and perhaps place gems around the centre frame if you want more sparkle .

Go for it lol.

Until next time,

Be good.

Lynn x
