Hello All :-)
We are 'Spotlighting' the fantastic Oakwood Glitter Brush Pens... however I have to point out that the photos make it hard to do them justice, as the finish and sparkle is INCREDIBLE!!!
You can find the Shopping List for my project at the bottom of this page, and don't forget, as the pens are part of our special 'Spotlight Offer,' you can grab 10% off between the 30th April and 13th May 2023.
Creating Our Card Base
▪️ I used a C5 white card base, and then I cut my mat and layers using the Presscut Plain Rectangles Nesting Dies Set for the front.
For the largest layer I used Blue Maya Card, followed by the next layer in Foundations Coconut White Card.
(I chose this one as it is perfect for stamping).
For the next two layers, I missed a couple of dies out to create a wider border so you can see the stamped background clearly.
Stamping
▪️ Take your Creative Expressions Spread Your Wings Stamp Set, along with the largest white rectangle you have just die cut.
▪️ Pick one of the plant stamps and randomly stamp it at various angles and off the page with a
Versa Fine Clare Stamp Pad in Nocturne.
▪️ Next I used Oakwood Glitter Brush Pens in Forest Green (watered down and use a blending mat to mix the colour on) and Fawn to colour in the plants.
▪️ Now stamp up the next white layer; I stamped the bird in the middle and then made a mask using Woodware A4 Mask It Sheets.
Cut out the stamped mask and peel off the backing, and put over your stamped image.
Take the text stamp, and stamp in 4 areas (not fully on the page).
✅ TIP - Don't be afraid to stamp onto the mask, as this will look like the text is behind the bird. Masking is amazing if you have never tried it.
Next use a 'feather stamp' and randomly stamp in the spaces left on the mat.
Moving on to colouring the bird....
▪️Coloured the bird and feathers using the Teal and Turquoise Oakwood Glitter Brush Pens.
Again using a Stamping Block / Stamp Platform, I scribbled some of the pens onto it and then sprayed a tiny amount of water on it.
✅ TIP - This will allow you to lighten the pen colours to give you more colours to play with.
Once you have finished colouring start to glue your Matt and layers to the front of your card.
Creating flowers
▪️ I chose Creative Expressions Cosmos Flower Die Set, and cut out 2 flowers - one medium and one small - both in Foundations Coconut White Card. Also cut out 3 lots of foliage.
📍You will notice there is a back and a top layer to each flower.
▪️ Colour the back of your flowers with your Fawn Glitter Brush Pen, and the front in Magenta.
Glue the elements together. For my foliage I used my Forest Green Glitter Pen.
▪️ For my sentiment, I stamped out the Spread Your Wings Stamp again onto Coconut Card cut. I then cut this out and matted onto Blue Maya card.
For the bottom layer, I used white but coloured in with the Fawn Pen.
Glue layers together and then add to the bottom right of the card.
▪️To finish, glue your flowers to the card (use photo as a guide) and then use a little of
Cosmic Shimmer Pearlescent Decadent Teal Glue in the centre of each.
I hope you have enjoyed my blog, and will try out the pens... you won't be disappointed!
Thank you so much, and I will be back again soon with another Spotlight creation!
