Today we are going to keep it real easy, but hopefully a little stylish..
▪️We will start off by picking up a piece of Black Foundations card stock, and stamping our beautiful deer stamp in Tea Dye Distress Oxide Ink.
▪️For this one, we are going to use Cosmic Shimmer Olympic Gold Embossing Powder. This isn't one that I use very often, but I don't know why.. as it is stunning!
This beautiful embossing powder contains LOADS of mica; glorious shimmery mica (be still my beating heart!) Once you have heat embossed, just use a dusting brush (or cloth) to remove the excess mica. If you fall in love with the mica shimmer like I have, and want to leave a little trace of it in the texture of your card stock.. then here is a little trick... Give it a little light mist with a cheap hair spray to fix it in place.
▪️Now for the cutting...
Pop on top my Creative Expressions Large Panel Canvas Die and send it through your machine to cut and score the Canvas.
▪️Once through, use a Score Tool to burnish the score lines.
▪️Whilst building your canvas, I highly recommend using Woodware's Mini Pegs (to hold in place during construction) and Cosmic Shimmer Dries Clear Glue.
▪️Now build up the middle of the Canvas with a couple of bits of foam tape stacked togeher to give the middle a little support.
▪️Glue the canvas onto a panel of Bright White card - 6cm x 13cm
▪️For the background of this card, we are going to use the NEW Sue Wilson Background - Plaid Die.
This amazing die is part of Sue's latest Baby Collection, however for me, this truly is an all year round die.
▪️Here I have cut mine from Black Foundations card stock and lightly dusted over it with a dusting brush.
Remember, all that excess mica we picked up earlier from the embossing powder?
Well that will transfer off of the brush and give this die cut a lovely golden hue.
▪️Mist with hairspray once again to bond the mica to the card.
▪️Next I am going to take the outside edge for the Plaid die and cut it from a piece of Bright Gold Pearl card. I find this matches so nicely with the embossing powder.
▪️I have then glued the Plaid die cut on to the Bright Gold panel and infilled the small and large sqaures with gold gems.
▪️I have then foam padded this onto a piece of bright white card - 6"x6"
Under this level, I have then added another bright white panel. I really like double layering in white card as it creates a soft shadow that (to me) gives an air of luxury. This panel measures 6.5"x 6.5"
▪️Under this, I have then added a Bright Gold Pearl card layer - measuring 6.75"x 6.75"
▪️At this stage I really wanted to tie the black card in from the layers, so I have added a panel of black card - measuring 7"x 7"
▪️All of this has then been mounted onto a card blank - 7.25" x 7.25"
▪️To finish off, I have stamped "Yuletide Blessings" from my Creative Expressions Tea Bag Folding Stamp Set
▪️To compliment the main Deer stamp, I have stamped the sentiment with Tea Dye Distress Oxide Ink, and heat embossed it -again using Olympic Gold Embossing Powder. ▪️I have then layered this on to a piece of white card and foam paded it onto the card. I truly hope you have enjoyed reading through this project, and it inspires you to create something similar.
