Hi Lovely Crafters....
I can’t believe a whole year has gone by since I first joined Craftmania's Design Team -and what a wonderful crafting year it has been working with them :-))
My first creation I bought to you, was a Mother’s Day card, so I felt only right today to bring you a new design leading up to Mother's Day on 19th March!

CONSTRUCTING OUR CARD ELEMENTS
To begin, take an A4 sheet of white card and fold it in half with your Bone Folder.
Trim off 1/2 inch off the bottom, and 1 inch off of the front right hand side of the card (leaving the top smaller than the bottom).
Now take a sheet of Pink Cotton Foundations Card, and cut a strip 2 3/4 inches wide and 7 3/4 inches long, and stick this to the inside of the bottom piece of the card. (See my photos for reference, trimming off any excess).
Next, cut out three Butterfly Trellises in white card and trim them down so you’ve just got the circles from the top, and stick these down (as seen below). Cover up any untidy bottoms by cutting a piece of white card 7 3/4 inches long and 4 1/4 inches wide, any stick this to the inside of the card.
CREATING THE FRONT OF OUR CARD
Take a piece of pink ribbon (or a colour of your choice) and stick this to the front edge of your panel.
Using Jamie Rodgers Moroccan Scalloped Lattice Background Die, cut out the panel in white card, and then take your Noble Double Pierced Oval Die Set (B) to create a frame that fits (as seen in the photos above). Glue the inner edge back of the oval die cut, and stick it to the lattice background.
Again, trim around the oval to ensure there are no bits showing beneath!
Next, take the oval section which was cut out from the centre of your frame and place it on a piece of Pink Cotton card. Fussy cut around it so it’s slightly bigger than the white oval and glue this to the back of your oval frame. Use Foam Roll / Pads to adhere it to the front of your card.
DECORATING YOUR CARD
Cut out two Grand Butterflies in Pink Cotton Card, and apply your glue using Woodware's Ultra Fine Tip Glue Applicator. Sprinkle some Cosmic Shimmer Venetian Gold Mineral Mica on and leave to dry. I chose to leave some areas of pink showing on mine.
Next, glue your butterflies to some white vellum and leave to dry; fussy cut around them when ready.
Now, cut out three ovals in white card including the flowers in the Dragonfly Trellis Aperture Die.
Snip out the flowers and colour the stems and leaves with Fern Green Make Art Ink Pad, adding glittery yellow to the flower centres using a pen. Adhere these randomly to the front of your trellis panel.
We now need to create some small butterflies, again using your Butterfly Trellis Panel Die.
Cut these in pink and white card to then layer together.
SENTIMENT To make our sentiment, you will need to mix and match Jamie Rodgers Sentiment Collection.
Here I have used - Die Sets - Essentials 2, Female Relative and Male Relative dies.
Cut out the following in white card - Mother, Dad and Happy Birthday and Hugs
Cut out the following in Pink Cotton Card - Happy Birthday
Take the "S" from Hugs and add to Mother,
Cut the "D" off of Dad and the "ay" off of the end of Birthday to make Day.
Bit of imagination... but super easy!!
Stick a pink Happy at the top right corner of the card.
Next, cut out Jamie Rodgers pierced background from the Joyful Tidings Die Set in Pink Cotton and stick on the letters / words. You cut out above to make Mother’s Day on the background then place on pads and stick to the bottom of the card.
Now all that is left to do is to place all of your little and Grand Butterflies around the card as seen on the finished card.
