Hello to all you lovely Crafters.....
I hope you have all been having fun, and making lots of creations with Jamie's Wings Of Wonder Collection!! Every time I get these dies out, I get new ideas in my head of what I would like to create..
I was in the mood for colour this week ~ inspired by the celebration of a fiesta, bold and colourful!
As always the shopping list for the products I have used are at the end of this blog.
Let's get started by taking a 6x6 blank card base....
Take a piece of matt black card and cut the base using Creative Expressions' Moroccan Scalloped Lattice Background. Run this die through again, but this time with the Lattice Background, using low tack tape to secure in place.
Repeat this process again in white, for the base only (not including the lattice). On this cut we need to trim off the scallops.
Now time to create with colour....
Here I have used a selection of Distress Oxide Ink Pads in the following colours
▪️Wilted Violet
▪️Tumbled Glass
▪️Lumberjack Plaid
▪️Mustard Seed
▪️Mowed Lawn
Using a Creative Expressions Blending Smoothie (one for each colour of course), do a strip of each colour with your inks.
Now glue this behind your black frame, so all the glory of the colours show through!
Glue the frame to the base card.
Next using the Cherry Blossom Die Set, cut out four sets of flowers and four leaves in white.
Go crazy now with your Distress Oxide Inks, and colour your flower layers in one solid colour (see my photo below). Mix it up and then shade the leaves - giving them three colours each.
Next, cut out your Grand Dragonfly twice in white, and and colour with the Oxides and then glue together (by the body only) so you create a 3D effect. Add pearls for finishing touch.
Glue all of the pieces to your frame; use my photo as a guide or make your own design.
To finish the card, I have used chosen a selection of sentiments from Creative Expressions Wordies Everyday set.
I hope you like this easy make... stand out party card!! It's design lends itself to so many occasions including party invites, birthday, get well... the choice is yours, but hopefully it has given you some inspiration and the confidence to be bold with your colours :-)
Thanks guys, I will be back soon to share more ideas.... and a card with a touch of class!!
